Liberal cover-up continues: Trudeau knew of Vance allegations

March 16, 2021

Ottawa, ON – James Bezan, Conservative Shadow Minister for National Defence, Pierre Paul-Hus, Conservative Shadow Minister for Public Services and Procurement, and Leona Alleslev, MP for Aurora—Oak Ridges—Richmond Hill, released the following statement calling on Justin Trudeau to come clean with Canadians about his knowledge of sexual misconduct allegations against the former Chief of the Defence Staff:

“Last week at Defence Committee, Minister Sajjan confirmed what Conservatives have been saying for weeks – that Justin Trudeau was aware of allegations of sexual misconduct by the former Chief of the Defence Staff for three years.

“Justin Trudeau has been asked several times if he was aware of allegations against the former Chief of the Defence Staff but has repeatedly failed to answer the question. Instead of being honest, Prime Minister Trudeau has decided to mislead Canadians about his involvement in this cover-up.

“We must ensure that any woman can serve her country with honour and without compromise. That starts with ensuring a safe environment, having women at the command table, and being honest with Canadians.

“Conservatives are calling on Justin Trudeau to do the right thing and admit he was aware of sexual misconduct allegations against the former Chief of the Defence Staff three years ago. Canadians deserve the truth – it’s the Prime Minister’s responsibility to give it to them.”
